The MA-1 Flight Jacket is an American military jacket designed by the United States Air Force which was developed in the 1950's to protect our pilots for decades. The flight jackets were created to allow the pilot to wear the jacket opened and be comfortable in warm weathers in addition to wearing it closed to protect them against cold conditions encountered during flight.

Our Tuskegee Airmen MA-1 Flight Jacket is a fashionable lightweight, warm, and comfortable year-round jacket. It is a classic original fit jacket with interior orange lining, full length front zip closure, two front slash pockets with flap & snap closure, zippered utility pocket, an interior slip pocket, rib-knitted cuff, collar, and hem. Complete with an array of vintage-style embroidered patches on both sleeves, chest, and back to salute the accomplishments of the Tuskegee Airmen.

  • 100% polyester
  • original fit with orange interior lining
  • full length front zip closure
  • interior slip pocket
  • embroidered patches on sleeves, chest and back
  • waterproof, windproof and breathable fabric

The Tuskegee airmen were the first black servicemen to serve as military aviators in the U.S. armed forces and they flew with distinction during World War II. Though subject to racial discrimination both at home and abroad, the Tuskegee Airmen were prized and respected in the Army Air Force for their success in closely protecting Allied bombers flying missions into enemy territories.  The 996 pilots and more than 15,000 ground personnel who served with the all-black units would be credited with some 15,500 combat missions and earn over 150 Distinguished Flying Crosses for their achievements. The successes of the Tuskegee Airmen helped pave the way for the eventual integration of the U.S. armed forces in 1948.
