In 1866, Congress formed the first all-black regiments in the U.S. Army. These men became known as "Buffalo Soldiers" for their courage and tenacity. When not fighting, Buffalo Soldiers built forts and roads, escorted wagon trains, cattle drives, stage coaches and mail runs and also protected settlers from outlaws. The Buffalo Soldier units also fought in some of the fiercest battles against Native Americans. The Native Americans gave the troops the name Buffalo Soldiers out of respect and for the fierce fighting ability of the 10th Cavalry. Many Buffalo Soldiers earned the distinguished Medal of Honor.

Order your Buffalo Soldiers memorabilia today and pay homage to these brave heroes.
